Internet Memes: Mikhail Prokhorov

Friday, February 24, 2012 11:53 AM by RobertVincent

Billionaire industrialist and New Jersey Nets co-owner Mikhail Prokhorov gained internet fame when he rapped in an appearance on a Russian talk show a few weeks ago. The YouTube video of his appearance went viral shortly after. The lyrics inspired an internet meme, exclusively from RobertVincent3.com. I wish him good luck in the March 4 presidential election as he is going to need it. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is projected to win by a landslide, keeping the Russian Federation in a state of perpetual corruption while freedoms are continuously eroded. If the people don't vote for Mr. Prokhorov and stick with the status quo, then they deserve everything they have coming to them!

Can you identify the celebrity in each photo? Stare at the three dots in each one for 30 seconds and then look at a blank surface. You will be shocked!

Chink in the Armor?!: ESPN.com Title Sparks Outrage

Monday, February 20, 2012 2:15 PM by RobertVincent

After a 89-85 loss to the New Orleans Hornets last Friday, some genius on ESPN Mobile decided to post an article titled "A Chink in the Armor." While I understand that Jeremy Lin's nine turnovers played a large factor in the NY Knick's loss that Friday, I don't understand how it went undetected for 35 minutes before finally being pulled. How can a news agency, especially one with such stature as ESPN, to allow such racism to get past the radar? Where were the proofreaders with the most basic common sense who could have caught the article and had it revised before it was ever published at all? Although the one who published it, Anthony Federico, has since been fired, this slipup, combined with a similar statement by reporter Max Bretos (who is married to an Asian and should especially know better) the Wednesday before demonstrates to me that everyone at ESPN needs serious diversity training. Just because nigger means black, that doesn't make it okay to use by everyone. A similar argument could be made with the word "spaz" in Europe.

If you see these two people out in the street, please be sure to hit them in the eye and say it is courtesy of all of the Asian-Americans who have ever been called out of name or viewed as unmasculine by the media's stereotypes.

Whitney Houston Funeral Video

Sunday, February 19, 2012 1:13 PM by RobertVincent

Legendary R & B singer Whitney Houston was put to rest yesterday afternoon following a funeral service that lasted for more than three hours. Although intended to be a small and private ceremony, her family decided to share this moment with the public through a live stream. Many celebrities, including Reverend Jesse Jackson, Kevin Costner and Alicia Keys participated in the event. Houston, who sold more than 160 million records, is the daughter of gospel legend Cissy Houston and the cousin of Dionne Warwick. She will be put to rest next to her father in a cemetary near her hometown of Newark, New Jersey.

Internet Humor: Whitney Houston Meme

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 2:44 PM by RobertVincent

Rather than take the cheap shot of commenting on the late Whitney Houston's drug problems, I decided to be a little smarter than that. While Whitney Houston may have been a drug addict, she was also broke, living on advances from her studio. She has written only a few, if any at all, of her own songs, including the smash-hit "I Will Always Love You," which was written by none other than country legend Dolly Parton decades earlier.
